My visiting nurse came today to change the dressing on my hickman. This was supposed to be done yesterday but there was a misunderstanding with the visiting nurse. I was actually supposed to have my blood drawn yesterday as well.. Long story short, I am using a different company now. The fieasco yesterday caused me to have to have my blood drawn from my arm.. which means I had to get stuck.. and I have a hickman! thats annoying. Apparently the moral of the story I didn't tell is that if you use a pharmacutical compnay for your IV care (which I am told is my only option) you (or your health care provider) needs to be purchasing something from them in order for them to want to send their nurses out... hmm you learn something every day.. i hope they learned that you shouldnt piss me off or you lose my business..
