I lost my husband to AML and am in the process of losing my sister to stage IV lung cancer. I just Googled both to see if anyone had experience with both of the evil bastards. My sister is very into fundraising, a doctor and nonsmoker, who is livid about the stigma, which prevents funding. AML is a tough one, and I wish you the best. My husband died from a UTI that wasn't caught because of Labor Day Weekend, and turned into spinal meningitis. He was in remission with low platelets.

Hello fellow survivor! My name is Chrissy, also. I am a CML survivor since April 3, 2005. I've read "My So-Called Normal Life" as well. It is a good read, Erin is so candid about her experience. I hope you are well. Take care, and best wishes! :)<br />

Chris, I'm not sure if this is a good answer or not, but I think you feel lonely because only you are truly experiencing what is happening to your body. We can empathize but we can't actually experience it with you physically. We can love and support you but we can't actually feel what you feel. Just know that although you feel lonely you are not alone in spirit. Your friends and family love you, pray for you, and are there for you.

Hang in there. I survived bone cancer roughly 20 years ago and I tyhankfully I am still on remission. I also had a friend who died from cancer when I was a teenager. What I can tell yuou is that life is not cruel or benevolent. Life simply is. I know it is hard not to feel that life has given you a bad hand or to feel alone in your struggle. You hang tough and I can tell you that somehow things work out as long as you don't give up. Keep up the fight. I will be glad to talk if you ever want to do so.
